The Kosovo Force (KFOR) is a NATO-led international peacekeeping force and military of Kosovo. [2] KFOR is the third security responder, after the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law mission, respectively, with whom NATO peacekeeping forces work in close coordination. [4]

NATO has been leading a peace-support operation in Kosovo – the Kosovo Force (KFOR) – since June 1999. KFOR was established when NATO’s 78-day air campaign against Milosevic’s regime, aimed at putting an end to violence in Kosovo, was over.

On Tuesday, 11 March 2025, the North Atlantic Council, with the NATO Secretary General, Mr Mark Rutte, and the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ms Radmila Shekerinska, will visit KFOR, the NATO-led mission in Kosovo, and the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT).
