Ketchup on most egg preparations (simple stuff like fried, over-easy, scrambled, omelette), but not on fancier eggs (poached, Eggs Benedict) is pretty normal to me, and not considered odd. Central Ontario, Canada if it matters.

No. Brown sauce. Or Salsa Lizano (it's a delicious Costa Rican condiment that I have great trouble describing, but if you have some, try it on eggs - it's kind of like barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sauce, and A1 had a bastard child, but that really doesn't describe how good it is).

Bacon and eggs need either ketchup or brown sauce, the table would look naked without it. Bonus points if it comes in a plastic tomato shaped bottle with the ketchup coming out of the green stalk! Brown sauce has to stay in the bottle with the houses of parliament on the front.

This is my take, but once you're adding avocado, leaving the yolks runny, and doing a good job seasoning the whole thing, adding ketchup is like taking a sledgehammer to stained glass, yeah all the pieces are still there but you've ruined the appeal

Fried eggs and ketchup isn’t too bad, but once you pass the threshold of a reasonable amount of ketchup, yeah, it’s pretty nasty. Pretty acidic too. A little bit goes a long way.

Ketchup with scrambled eggs feels normal. Ketchup with fried eggs feels wrong. I'm fully aware that makes no sense. I highly suggest fried eggs with Pesto. Red Pesto is probably more similar to Ketchup, but green Pesto is just incredible woth fried egg.
