Kbal Spean (Khmer: ក្បាលស្ពាន, Kbal Spéan [kɓaːl spiən]; lit. ' Bridge Head ') is an Angkorian-era archaeological site on the southwest slopes of the Kulen Hills to the northeast of Angkor in Banteay Srei District, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.

2022年11月14日 · Kbal Spean literally means “Bridge Head” in Khmer and is an ancient Angkorian site, part of Phnom Kulen National Park. It is located in Banteay Srei district, Siem Reap Province. Its name comes from a natural sandstone rock bridge over the Kbal Spean River.

Set in the jungle 50 km to the northeast of Siem Reap and 18 km from Banteay Srei, Kbal Spean is reached by trekking up a 1.5km uphill trail into the jungle. It takes about 40 minutes through some interesting boulder formations along the way.

2022年9月17日 · Visiting Kbal Spean. Located to the northwest of Phnom Kulen, it is around 50 km north of the city center of Siem Reap taking around 60 mins by car and a little longer by tuk tuk or moto, along good sealed roads with enjoyable countryside views along the way.

A spectacularly carved riverbed, Kbal Spean is set deep in the jungle to the northeast of Angkor. More commonly referred to in English as the ‘River of a Thousand Lingas’, the name actually means ‘bridgehead’, a reference to the natural rock bridge here.

Kbal Spean is an ancient Khmer site in Phnom Kulen National Park, a remote place located at considerable distance from Siem Reap and the main Angkor monuments. The site stretches out over a length of about 150 meters through the jungle along the Stung Kbal Spean river, known as the “river of a thousand lingas”.

Kbal Spean is situated in the mountains, in the range known as the Kulen Hills. The site is located towards the northeast of Angkor, with the distance between it and the popular Angkor Wat temple complex being around 44 km (27.3 miles).

Kbal Spean is not as breathtaking as other ancient Khmer heritage sites, but is evocative and charming. It can not at all be called a landmark, but it is one of those attractions that are unique to Cambodia, a place of magic beyond imagination.

2022年2月4日 · Kbal Spean is a sacred river situated in the foothills of the Kulen mountain range. In addition to the many unique sculptures that are found on the river’s bed and surrounding rocks, there are also a variety of religious shrines that have been built next to it.

Kbal Spean is an ancient Angkor ruin that is a 90-minute bumpy ride from Siem Reap, on the same route to Banteay Srei. The tarred road ends at Banteay Srei, after which the roads become either very muddy or very dusty, depending on the time of the year.
