Kasenyi plains are found in the north Eastern part of queen elizabeth and some times are known as Mweya. These plains are also known as Kasenyi sector. The plains are fascinating with endless views of Savannah’s with roaming antelopes such as Uganda Kob among other wildlife.

Kasenyi’s topography is a flat open savannah plain in the North East of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It sits on an elevation of 930 m above sea level. On the West of the Plains is the beautiful escarpment with the perfect vantage point.

Kasenyi Plains is located in the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest national park. Spanning over 1,978 square kilometers, the park is home to an incredible diversity of ecosystems, including savannahs, wetlands, forests, and crater lakes.

The Kasenyi plains are on the western shores of the adjacent stunning Lake George, just near to the area where the Kazinga Channel confluences with this lake. Kasenyi is found within the north-eastern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

A large portion of our work is conducted in the northern section of the park, an area called Kasenyi. Also known colloquially as the Kasenyi plains, along with the Mweya peninsula that connects with the Kazinga Channel, the area is often frequented by a variety of ungulates and predator species such as lions, hyenas, and leopards.
