Karabad (Persian: كر آباد, also Romanized as Karābād and Karrābād; also known as Garābād and Karrāwa) [1] is a village in Razab Rural District, in the Central District of Sarvabad County, Kurdistan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 665, in 164 families.

The Karabad sites, west of it, are a series of small shelters about 120 feet above a valley. As is most times the case, these sandstone shelters are rather shallow, so that the paintings have always been done in the daylight.
