Kültepe (Turkish: lit. 'ash-hill'), also known under its ancient name Kaneš (Kanesh, sometimes also Kaniš /Kanish) or Neša (Nesha), is an archaeological site in Kayseri Province, Turkey.

2020年9月16日 · Now, archaeologists have unearthed the statuettes of gods and goddesses worshiped by the Anatolian people thousands of years ago, at the Kültepe, also known as Kanesh, an ancient site located in the central Kayseri province, writes Daily Sabah. Kültepe, the ancient city of Kanesh, is defined as one of the most important urban centers in the ancient near east. Excavations conducted for more than sixty-five years in one of the largest mounds and lower towns in Anatolia have provided a great contribution not only to the history of Anatolia, but also to the ancient Near East.

Scholars gathered at Kültepe for the 3rdKültepe International Meetings (KIM) from August 4 to August 7, 2017, and presented twenty-four talks integrating Kültepe into its local and regional environment. The wide range of disciplines represented gave an accurate reconstitution of the site in ancient times.

Kültepe or Kanesh is an archaeological site in Kayseri Province, Turkey. The site inhabited continuously from the Chalcolithic to Roman times, flourished as an important Hattic, Hittite and Hurrian city, containing a large kārum (merchant colony) of the Old Assyrian Empire from 21st to 18th centuries BC.
