GS6 Cross Country. The starting serial number was 70100000 (For GS6 models only). It has the MC5 frame styling with the exception of new high breather tunnel type backbone. The new enduro gas tank, side panels and combo headlite number plate were all painted orange. The sticker on the gas tank is like the 1976 Cross Country model.

In November of 1983 a new 125cc (type 501) engine was introduced and was available in MX or MXC form. Also in November the Rotax engine was available in 348cc GS/ 506cc GS/ & 560cc GS form for 1984. These were the last models for the KTM/ Rotax bikes. In March KTM released their own 500cc & 600cc 4 stroke engines in GS or MX form.

2020年2月18日 · It has a large blue gas tank (Supposedly a GS6 aka Desert tank) with a KTM decal and the white/black "L" stripe. The side covers are blue with yellow number plates. One side has an MC5 sticker the other side a 400 sticker. I have also read that European and Canadian KTMs were originally delivered like this?

Not sure if it's exactly the same, but technical bulletin dated 4/79, that superseded bulletin dated 12/78 list the timing of 400 KTM to be 2.2-2.3mm before top dead center. Mike.
