I suspect that's what's going on in the "silly walk" picture -- if Lennon ran with a longer stride than the others, and Angeli photographed Lennon as he came to a stop (or possibly just as he started, but it looks more like a stop to me) then that would explain the strange pose.

John Lennon actually walked like this for a period of time after falling off a speaker mid set in London, 1965 damaging his lower spine. /s. John did all sorts of weird stuff while there was paparazzi around. There's several video clips of him dancing with Yoko and just plain mugging and weirdness. No context. Simply spur of the moment buffoonery.
