My research lies in the interface of machine learning and AI, computer algorithms and computational biology. I am interested in studying AI and computer algorithms to analyze and interpret high volumes of biological data (especially about proteins) and based upon which building predictive models.

Dr. Xu’s research lies in the interface of machine learning, optimization and computational biology. He has developed several popular bioinformatics programs such as the CASP-winning RaptorX suite (http://raptorx.uchicago.edu) for protein structure prediction and IsoRank/HubAlign/ConvexAlign for comparative analysis of protein interaction networks.

Associate Professor, Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago. Jinbo Xu received his BS in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1996, his MSc from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, and his PhD from the University of Waterloo in 2003.

Jibo Xu received the B.S. degree in materials physics from the College of Physics, Qingdao University, Qingdao, China, in 2020, where he is currently pursuing the M.S. degree in physics with the College of Physics. His research mainly focuses on epitaxial film heterostructures.
