I do remember that JAL service used to be better in the 80's and 90's than now, but I'm strictly comparing recent experiences. The in flight entertainment system may have been better on ANA - Unless JAL updated theirs recently, it seemed that their movies played on a loop instead of on demand, and there weren't as many choices.

ANA has nonstop flights from Houston and I would be able to use the United lounge when I am in Houston (I believe) and the haneda lounge in Tokyo . For JAL I would technically have access to the Dallas lounge (I think?) which is where the connection stops, but the time between flights in only about an hour.

2010年6月7日 · One clear difference is that JAL lets you keep the pajamas while ANA takes them back to wash and reuse over and over. Also, the new ANA F seat blocks most of the windows. Even if you have a window seat, you will only be able to see out one window, as the wall of the seat extends up very high and covers up the other windows.

2021年10月31日 · Thanks for the great comparison! I agree that JAL and ANA are two of the world's best airlines and are generally under-appreciated. When it comes to domestic F, I agree that overall, JAL feels more premium than ANA Premium Class. (For simplicity I will refer to ANA Premium Class as ANA F.)
