2012年7月24日 · I predict that the L86 will make you smile, big smile. The L46 can be comfortably run much louder than the L56 due to the lower crossover and more capable woofer, but it's suffers from some of the same issues as the L56 too. Still I'd take the 46 over the 56 any time. But the 86 is pure gold and occasionally found at low prices.

2013年1月30日 · L56 Here are some pics. I went ahead and got them. I thought I had read somewhere that someone else compared them to JBL L46 and said the L56 had a "hole" in the midrange. Could this be fixed with a change to the crossover? I am probably gonna flip them. They are very clean and have that classic white woofer and cast baskets.

2023年4月27日 · The L56 suffers from the same problems that most medium-large 2-ways suffer from - both drivers stretching to fill the midrange, and the compromises associated with that. Asking a 1" dome tweeter to reach down to 2.2kHz is going to limit it's power handling, and asking a 10" woofer to reach up to 2.2kHz is going to create directivity issues.

2010年11月28日 · I was doing an A/B comparison last night and they do sound different from one another. The L56 to my ears has higher high frequency extension and has a wider/bigger sound stage and very good imaging as compared to the L100. The L100 seemed to have less highs tahn I expected. Tend to sound a little nasal at times, boomy lows too.

I've seen them advertised as studio monitors on a few places online but im wondering if this is true. I'm looking for something thats flat and translate's well. Sometimes speakers are advertised as studio monitors, but they color the sound to much.

2015年10月2日 · JBL had famously tried Lansaloy surrounds, a very flexible (at first) foam like surround - it hardened to stiff within a few years, and typically cracks as it contracts - all those drivers (8, 14, 15 inch woofers) should be converted to current foam.
