2022年4月29日 · Absolutely 1000% do not recommend. Terry with burger Motorsport is absolutly no help. Jb4 2020 bmw m5 f90, plugged ewg connectors in and many codes were thrown after contacting terry. Was just told to unplug them, without those connectors the tune is worthless. For a very minimal power gain was not worth the $1000.00 I spent plus all the headaches.

You might have a small chance they’ll warranty it if you have a really good relationship with your dealership and they’re willing to overlook it (and potentially eat the full cost if it gets denied by BMW corporate), but I wouldn’t ...

2021年10月19日 · If you’re asking about the difference between the engines unrelated to JB4, a couple key/obvious differences are: The S58 is a twin-turbo engine and the B58 is a single twin-scroll turbo. The engine block is the same but the M engine has forged internals unlike the B58.

I had the extended timing chain warranty denied on my 228i because of my jb4. Took it off before I went to the dealer but they’re required to hook the car up to ISTA and send BMW all of the engine parameters. Boost value was over programmed limits according to the system so they flagged the engine as tampered with and denied the warranty.

2021年12月14日 · Which means if he tunes it the ecu will be voided unless it’s a dinan+ tune. It makes sense though if I was a dealer leasing the car I wouldn’t want someone beating the shit out of it with a JB4 or BM3 just to return it two years later thinking we wouldn’t know. I think it’s good that modern ecu’s can detect an aftermarket tune.

2020年6月18日 · Hi folks! I'm interested in installing a JB4 tuner in my otherwise stock 2017 BMW 530i XDrive, but I'm not clear on what type of engine I have (e.g. E60, F10, etc.). My engine cover says "TwinPower Turbo" which I've read helps determine engine type. So, that all being the case, I'm hoping this awesome community can help me with a few questions:

BMW employee of 18 years here. The dealer is being a plum but is also ‘nearly’ correct. As soon as a car is plugged into ISTA (the BMW dealer software) and runs a brief test, if it detects engine tuning etc then it will display a message stating this. At this point the data is already logged with BMW themselves.

2022年5月31日 · Now the main difference between MHD (also BM3) and JB4 is that JB4 is a piggyback which is a near plug n play. It will under-volt the sensors so they read lower than they should and naturally the DME will allow more boost.

2014年11月19日 · With FBO JB4 is not more powerful. The limitation is how much mass the stock turbo can flow and nothing more. The JB4 can be run in a more aggressive and less safe mode where it runs on the edge of detonation which will make more than a normal cobb tune but you can absolutely make a "kill map" for the cobb that is exactly as powerful as the JB4.
