This HP J8177C compatible SFP transceiver is a small form factor pluggable copper module (mini-GBIC) that is designed for 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet short reach application. It fully complies with the Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA) and can be used on the MSA compliant networking equipment.

The J8177CST is an HP J8177C compatible copper transceiver module that has been designed, programmed and tested to work with HP® brand compatible switches and routers. It delivers dependable 1 GbE connectivity over copper cable, for 1000BASE-T compliant networks, with a maximum distance of up to 100 m (328 ft).

J8177C/D or JL474A will have a delay (~15 secs) before link up or down is properly displayed when a cable is inserted or removed. The 8325 requires configuration of interface groups (groups of 12 ports) to enable the use of 1G or 10G transceivers / DACs in the SFP28 ports (Interface Groups default to 25G speed).
