While you must be signed in as an administrator to install ImDisk and create a RAM disk, all users will be able to use the RAM disk. It is required to turn off Fast Startup while using a RAM disk for it to be able to synchronize at restart and shutdown.

I downloaded a trial copy of SoftPerfect's RAM disk software. It looked pretty good until I rebooted and got a BSOD - that's all it took for me to uninstall it. I saw the tutorial for ImDisk and that looks promising.

I much would have preferred something lighter/smaller without DVD drive.
