They seem to get by fine without car batteries, propane tanks or lights. I'm plenty fat and traverse 5-7 miles carrying my sonic ice hopper and k drill. Fishing 6 hours without a shack or heat.

I'm not going to be going terribly far (1/4 - 1/2 mile at most) and I'm wondering: #1) Should I get an ice fishing sled to carry my gear? #2) How large a sled should I get? I'm only dragging it by hand, so I wouldn't want one that is designed for being pulled by a snowmobile or ATV.

2010年12月6日 · The buckets always take up too much room in the sled so I wanted them outside the sled. I needed more room in the sled for my Electra Lazer auger and flasher. I didn't want to pile crap on top of the expensive stuff. I used some horse feed bucket holders to a small piece of unistrut to hold the ice fishing size buckets.

2011年12月2日 · I have heard of ice fishing sleds being pulled across the ice on skis set-ups that transport the sled 12-18 inches above the ice. The sled can be lifted off to load separately into vehicle. Does anybody have any pics or better yet plans. Thanks
