Scrat's epic pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him outside of Earth, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet.

Back in space, Scrat managed to get his acorn back and squeeze himself out of his space helmet and into his space suit where he travels through the rubber airline back towards the UFO. Inside, Scrat notices Earth, runs to the front of the ship, and gives the planet and homesick look.

This UFO is an important element of the Ice Age franchise. It first appeared in Ice Age as a joke and then had an important role in Ice Age: Collision Course. It can be seen when Manny, Sid, Diego and Roshan walks by an Ice Cave and they see the UFO frozen.

Scrat: Spaced Out is an animated short film from Ice Age: Collision Course that was released with the movie on DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital HD and Blu Ray 3D. It also serves as deleted scenes for the movie, being a mixture of all of Scrat's scenes from the movie while also having scenes that were not included in the movie.
