Ibn Hazm [a] (Arabic: ابن حزم, romanized: Ibn Ḥazm; November 994 – 15 August 1064) was an Andalusian Muslim polymath, historian, traditionist, jurist, philosopher, and theologian, born in the Córdoban Caliphate, present-day Spain. [6]

Abu Muhammad Ali ibn Hazm (994-1064) was a Spanish-born Arab theologian, philosopher, and jurist whose most important work was a book on comparative religious history. Ibn Hazm was born in Cordova. His father, who was chief minister at the Umayyad court, died when Ibn Hazm was 18 years old, during the violent political upheavals of the time.

He was an Andalusian Muslim, you know, Al Andalus used to be the core of intellectuals in medieval Europe. Ibn Hazm was called Al Kitab al-Muhallā bi'l Athār, which meant that he knew much about Islam, Christianity, Jew, etc.
