The ISBT 128 standard provides the specification for many of the elements of the information environment required in transfusion and transplantation. It defines the lower three levels of the model, the standardized terminology, reference tables, and data structures. Minimum requirements are also defined for delivery mechanisms and labeling.

The goal of ISBT 128 is to globally standardize terminology, coding and labeling for products of human origin. The standardization of terminology is the first step and is the foundation for standardizing coding and labeling.

2014年11月17日 · Implementation of ISBT 128 requires the end-user to register with ICCBBA and to pay an annual license fee. License fees are established by the ICCBBA Board of Directors to cover the expenses of maintaining and extending ISBT 128, and making available current versions of documents and database tables.
