2013年4月5日 · Actually you can. I have an i5 2400 in my second PC. Not only is it a really fast chip to start with, but you can get a worthwhile speed bump by overclocking. "Locked" chips aren't really locked. They are just a bit more locked than unlocked chips. The way to do it is via the turbo ratios - in the BIOS.

2016年5月7日 · Yep, fairly solid. But I'd still recommend a new Intel i3-6100 instead of it for 110 dollars, if you need a new motherboard either way. If you already have a motherboard for the i5-2400, It's a different situation.

That means a maximum of 3.8GHz on one core only (3.7GHz with two active cores, 3.6GHz with three active, and 3.5GHz with all four active). 2. The P8P67-M Pro mainboard. The two Micro-ATX boards that ASUS sells really suck for overclocking.

2013年4月17日 · The i5-2400 is supposed to be at 3.5Hz with turbo. There is absolutely no risk of it dying of the overclock, nor will you notice much of a difference, since it's such a small boost. Be sure to install your cooler correctly though with thermal paste applied on properly. Not doing so may cause a cpu to shorten its life even without any overclock.
