Huế (formerly Thừa Thiên Huế province) is the southernmost coastal city in the North Central Coast region, the Central of Vietnam, approximately in the center of the country. It borders Quảng Trị to the north, Quảng Nam and Đà Nẵng to the south, Salavan of Laos to the west and the South China Sea to the east.

Hue, city, central Vietnam. Lying on a plain backed by foothills of the Annamese Cordillera (Chaîne Annamitique) and situated 5 miles (8 km) from the South China Sea coast, Hue is traversed by the broad, shallow Huong River (Hue River, or Perfume River).

Hue is located in central Vietnam. When you are traveling south from here you can head to the beaches of Da Nang or the old historical town of Hoi An. Up north you can visit the Phong Nha, with some of the biggest caves in the world or head even further up to Ninh Binh.
