How to import Cad models into Blender the easy way
2017年10月16日 · I have always used .STL and then when in Blender I select every triangle and vertex so I can add materials and textures to certain parts. I am wondering If there is someway to import Cad models into Blender and all the parts are already separated so I don't have to select every vertex? This would save me tons of time. Thanks

Using Blender 2.73a just go to File > Import > Wavefront (.obj) Browse from the extracted downloaded folder for file .obj extension (in my case it is DBR9.obj of size 2.8Mb.) The whole beautiful complete frame of the car model should open right away in your editor. I just played for Blender for an hour and it is fun to learn up.

When you click the link or append operator, the file browser will come up for you to navigate to the file you want to use.

Both of the original projects should be considered obsolete in favor of the newer, combined glTF-Blender-IO project. The Blender Manual includes documentation on ways to use glTF.

2018年10月2日 · I have a potential customer that is not working with Blender. I guess they are using 3ds Max and a cooperation is only possible if I can use there 3D-models and textures in Blender. I have tested to import .3ds and .obj files into Blender, but there are no textures visible and the scale is not correct or the 3D-models is broken or just a big mess.

2015年1月9日 · Not directly (since the ma .. mb formats are closed or licensed I think? don't quote me), but you can export your model from Maya to a universal format that Blender supports such as .abc, .fbx, .dae or .obj and then import into Blender using the File > Import menu.
