Hornworts are a group of non-vascular Embryophytes (land plants) constituting the division Anthocerotophyta (/ ˌænθoʊˌsɛrəˈtɒfətə, - təˈfaɪtə /). The common name refers to the elongated horn-like structure, which is the sporophyte.
