Mar 17, 2018 · For some time now, a company called Hon Hai Presicion has repeatedly signed on and off my WiFi network. Are they a threat or are they merely testing and/or monitoring their components. Please advise.

Hon Hai Precision is used in Sony gaming consoles. Both of my PS4s show up as Hon Hai Precision when I'm looking at connected clients through my router interface. Sony Playstations will routinely phone home and perform/download updates when they are in resting mode. Hon Hai, not coincidentally, is also the corporate name of Foxconn. May 27, 2019 · Hon Hai Precision Industries aka Foxconn is the manufacturer for a large number of branded electronic products for the likes of Apple and Sony. Looks like they are using MAC addresses issued to them rather than their customer.

I looked up the MAC addresses, the only information I could find on them was the manufacturer, which was Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, which apparently is the biggest contract manufacturer of technology in the world, including iPhones, iPads, game consoles, etc. I bought the Chromecasts straight from the Google store.
