Mar 17, 2018 · For some time now, a company called Hon Hai Presicion has repeatedly signed on and off my WiFi network. Are they a threat or are they merely testing and/or monitoring their components. Please advise.

Hon Hai Precision is used in Sony gaming consoles. Both of my PS4s show up as Hon Hai Precision when I'm looking at connected clients through my router interface. Sony Playstations will routinely phone home and perform/download updates when they are in resting mode. Hon Hai, not coincidentally, is also the corporate name of Foxconn. May 27, 2019 · Hon Hai Precision Industries aka Foxconn is the manufacturer for a large number of branded electronic products for the likes of Apple and Sony. Looks like they are using MAC addresses issued to them rather than their customer.

Apr 1, 2020 · I have two PS4 consoles. One originally showed up as PS4-*** but I changed the name. The other shows up as "Hon Hai Precision Ind" which is the company that produces PS4 network cards I guess.

Aug 15, 2022 · Hon Hai's new plant in Ohio, USA has also started small-scale production of Lordstown Motors pickup trucks in July, and a new customer, Monarch Tractor, an electric traction vehicle manufacturer in California, has also entered the schedule and will start production plans at the Ohio plant in the United States. Three of the unknown devices show up as companies located in China. Two of the companies have the following names: Hon Hai Precision Ind and Tenda Technology Ltd Dongguan Branch. I looked up the MAC addresses, the only information I could find on them was the manufacturer, which was Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, which apparently is the biggest contract manufacturer of technology in the world, including iPhones, iPads, game consoles, etc. I bought the Chromecasts straight from the Google store.

Roomba shows up as Azuretech, Google home Max as Unknown, HP printers as Hon Hai, other than that I’ll keep an eye out for new ones. Do you have a mobile hotspot from your phones ?
