2018年3月17日 · For some time now, a company called Hon Hai Presicion has repeatedly signed on and off my WiFi network. Are they a threat or are they merely testing and/or monitoring their components. Please advise.

Hon Hai Precision is used in Sony gaming consoles. Both of my PS4s show up as Hon Hai Precision when I'm looking at connected clients through my router interface. Sony Playstations will routinely phone home and perform/download updates when they are in resting mode. Hon Hai, not coincidentally, is also the corporate name of Foxconn.

2019年5月27日 · Hon Hai Precision Industries aka Foxconn is the manufacturer for a large number of branded electronic products for the likes of Apple and Sony. Looks like they are using MAC addresses issued to them rather than their customer.

2020年4月1日 · I have two PS4 consoles. One originally showed up as PS4-*** but I changed the name. The other shows up as "Hon Hai Precision Ind" which is the company that produces PS4 network cards I guess.

2023年1月4日 · Hello, I've gotten a new mainboard Asusu B650E-I mainboard which has onboard bluetooth, but unfortunately the drivers are not picked up automatically by Linux (Ubuntu 22.10) and I can't use Bluetooth.

2022年8月7日 · Not sure if I already posted this to the correct forum but here goes again. I have several unknown devices connected to my Starlink home wifi connection. Three of the unknown devices show up as companies located in China. Two of the companies have the following names: Hon Hai Precision Ind and Tenda Technology Ltd Dongguan Branch.

I looked up the MAC addresses, the only information I could find on them was the manufacturer, which was Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, which apparently is the biggest contract manufacturer of technology in the world, including iPhones, iPads, game consoles, etc. I bought the Chromecasts straight from the Google store.

We have a bunch of Mac laptops, two gen2 eeros, three gen1 eeros and a beacon.
