The story of Howard H. Cherry Scout Reservation (HHCSR) began in 1930 when the Council’s lease expired on Camp Mishawaka at Stone City, Iowa. At that time Howard H. Cherry contributed $1,000 for the purchase of eighteen acres of land along the Wapsipinicon River one mile north of the town of Waubeek, Iowa.

Open for camping adventures, good hiking, conservation projects and good fun year round. See website. Close to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on the Wapsipinicon River. This camp is like a second home for me and many of friends. Here we are able to leave realty of the crises our world is in and be able to enjoy ourself.
Scouts BSA Resident Camp Campsite Selection Week 1

Scouts BSA Resident Camp Week 2
All troops in camp must have at least two adult leaders (over 21 years of age) with the troop 24-hours a day. The Hawkeye Area Council will provide free registration for the first two leaders in each unit attending Scouts BSA Resident Camp. When registering online, please specify your two free leaders using the appropriate category.

HHCSR offers camping opportunities as well as a variety of recreational activities throughout the year, which is available to Scouting members and the public.
