Hanazuki is the titular main protagonist of the animated web-series Hanazuki: Full of Treasures. She is a Moonflower who lives on her own moon, and her mission is to protect it from any evil forces threatening to destruct it.

The series opens with Hanazuki, a newly born Moonflower, arriving on a moon populated by numerous denizens, including colorful rabbit-like creatures called Hemka. Still adjusting, Hanazuki learns about her abilities, moon and role as a moonflower. She is adept in growing colorful Treasure Trees and is willing to teach any moonflower that asks. She leads a nest of Hemkas. The second Moonflower, Kiazuki, is a female Moonflower from a "moon far away" who is formally introduced in the episode Moonflower Sister.

Hanazuki, Sleepy Unicorn and Zikoro are all taken captive on Sleepy's home moon by Sleepy's estranged brother Twisted Unicorn. Kiyoshi, the deposed Moonflower of Sleepy Unicorn's home moon, has been in hiding since Sleepy left. When Hanazuki succeeds in finding him, she reunites the two old friends.
