The AXION 900 TERRA TRAC from CLAAS is the first half-track tractor with full suspension. Its key innovation is the inclusion of the suspended TERRA TRAC crawler track system. This is based on the technology currently used in combine harvesters that have been specially adapted to meet the requirements of tractors.

A half-track is a civilian or military vehicle with wheels at the front for steering and continuous tracks at the back to propel the vehicle and carry most of the load. A half-track combines the soft-ground traction of a tank with the handling of a wheeled vehicle.

Now the AXION 900 TERRA TRAC has arrived – the first half-track tractor with full suspension.

The Linn tractor is a heavy duty civilian half-track or crawler tractor invented by Holman Harry Linn (born Holman Harry Flannery). Approximately 2,500 units were built in Morris, New York, USA from 1916 to 1952.
