Sharing the same aggressive front fascia, wider front fenders and 20” SV Panorama forged alloy wheels as the GTSR sedan, the new GTSR Maloo takes Australia’s ultimate workhorse to its most advanced and powerful conclusion. The supercharged LSA Generation IV alloy V8 pumps out a massive 435kW of power and 740Nm of torque.

To broaden appeal, HSV in 1996 released a limited edition flagship GTS-R model which came standard with the 5.7-litre V8, Tremec T56 six-speed transmission and "Hydratrak" limited slip differential (LSD) package.

The VS GTS/R retained the same 5.7L engine and 6 speed gearbox that features in the regular VS GTS models with a HRT optimized blueprint option to yeild more power for the cost of $10,000.
