Getting HNO3 from NH3 - Inorganic Chemistry - Science Forums
2012年1月13日 · Calculate how much HNO3 you can get (theoretically) from 1000 cubic meters of NH3. Now, the only way of getting HNO3 using NH3 is this one: 4NH3 + 5O2 -> 4NO + 6H20. 2NO + O2 -> 2NO2. 3NO2 + H2O -> 2HNO3 + NO So I thought I could do it this way: from 4NH3 I get -> 2 HNO3. so, from 89,6 cubic dm of NH3 I get -> 126,0256g of HNO3

How do we know which base/acid is stronger? - Science Forums
2008年8月10日 · I had read that we can compare the strengths of different oxyacids by counting the number of oxygen atoms borne by them, e.g.: HNO3 is stronger than HNO2, likewise H2SO4 is stronger than H2SO3. But what can we say about the comparison of HNO3 with H2SO4? Moreover, shoudn't H2CO3 be a strong acid as its also got 3 oxygen atoms?
Dissolving Ni - Inorganic Chemistry - Science Forums
2005年4月13日 · Quite an excess amount of HNO3 is needed in order to dissolve all metal, because at lower concentrations of HNO3, the metal does not dissolve anymore. Dissolving the metal can best be done by putting it in conc. HNO3 (60% or something like that) and dripping in water slowly and swirling. Making the acid luke-warm helps a lot.
How can you make p-aminobenzoic acid from benzene?
2011年1月15日 · ~Benzene + HNO3/H2SO4 ---> Benzene-NO2 ~convert that to an amine by hydrogenation H2/Pd But then I couldnt use a Friedel Craft Acylation to add an aldehyde to the ring because the aryl amine will react with the acyl chloride and make the reaction extremely slow: Benzene-NH2 + CHOCl ---> Benzene-NHCHO
Nitric acid from nitrate - Inorganic Chemistry - Science Forums
2006年5月23日 · You can indeed make HNO3 from a nitrate salt (most suitable are KNO3 and NaNO3), by adding the solid to concentrated H2SO4. You, however, need to distill the acid and that is not such an easy task. Nitric acid is corrosive like hell and it will eat your distilling apparatus away, when it is not an all-glass apparatus (possibly with teflon joins).
ammonium hydroxide and aluminium - Page 2 - Science Forums
2009年6月15日 · The logic is that as NH3 has much reduced solubility in seawater, I expected with time the DW would amass a good amount of the liberated ammonia from the now salt rich household ammonia. A day latter, I opened the vessel, I was surprised to see the amount of bubbling/attack performed on the Al plug, with no heating and no long waiting time ...
Rare Event Mystery of Exploding Massive Municipal Water Tanks
2013年6月5日 · Zn + [Cu(NH3)4](OH)2 <---> Cu + [Zn(NH3)4](OH)2 so the Copper would be regenerated at the expense of Zinc, to form potentially more nitrite. Even more profound is that this reaction is not limited to Zinc, but potentially could occur in the presence of any metal (or alloy thereof) that is chemically more reactive than Copper that forms a ...
NH4Cl > NH3 + HCl? - Chemistry - Science Forums
2009年3月18日 · With a little thought, I made a sudden epiphany recently, in noticing that ammonium chloride (NH4Cl), can actually be split into two separate chemicals, NH3, and HCl. I thought of various methods, how this can be done, however, in ionising, the salt does not form the compounds above, but rather ammonium ion (NH4+) and chlorine ion (Cl-).
Nitration of bromobenzene - Inorganic Chemistry - Science Forums
2009年1月28日 · hye . you can't calculate the exact percentage of the product by simple chemical equation because their are other factors which affect the reaction rate for ex relative proportion of h2so4 and hno3 , effect of bromine , and the most factor orientation i.e. o and para product . i know these makes your problem more complicated but .....
