IMR4895 vs H4895? | Sniper's Hide Forum
2005年12月18日 · Your H4895 is 94 on the burn chart, IMR4895 is 96 on the burn chart. I've got one pound of the IMR I was going to use. But until I've got more of it I don't want to do load development on 1lbs of powder (308).
H4895 . . . is this load too hot? Help! | Sniper's Hide Forum
2012年4月11日 · Re: H4895 . . . is this load too hot? Help! Thanks guys. - Accuracy first, but I am more interested in speed with this particular load due to the fact that it's a hunting round. I figured H4895 was a good choice because Varget worked so well from the same barrel when it was 20" long, albeit 175g SMKs
H4895 for a 308 - Sniper's Hide Forum
2012年6月14日 · H4895 is a great powder for a .308. I would rate Varget, H4895 and IMR 4064 as my top three choices. The H part of H4895 indicates that it is a extreme line series powder made by Hogdon. This means it is temp stable, a common complaint of RE15 powder. Work up a load, I have found good velocity with a accuracy.
H4895 vs IMR4895 - Cast Boolits
2013年2月17日 · H4895 meters better and more accurately as each stick is shorter and smaller in lenght than IMR4895. H4895 is also an "Extreme" powder and less temperature sensitive. Over the years I've found H4895 to very much less lot to lot. If buying new 4895 I buy H4895.
H4895 vs. IMR 4895 - CMP Forums
I'm brand new to reloading and just getting components together. I'll be loading for just my M1 to start out with. I have decided to go with IMR 4895 as my first powder to try. I recently found H4895 for sale for about $10 cheaper per pound. Is there a big difference between the IMR and the Hodgdon 4895's? Getting excited to start reloading ...
H4895 vs. H4198 vs. RL-7 For .30-30 Loads? - Cast Boolits
2012年3月13日 · H4895, on the other hand, with it's small kernals of extruded powder meters extremely well and very, very accurately. H4895 is also a modern "Extreme" powder making it much less sensitive to temperature variations giving a much more consistent performance from winter to summer.
H4895!? | Sniper's Hide Forum
2025年2月19日 · Regarding AR comp being a substitute for H4895, it wasn't for me. All my 223s and 223AIs love AR Comp for 40-55gr loads with excellent velocity and accuracy and it's my go to powder for the lighter bullets, but after testing I found AR comp was nowhere near as accurate as H4895 in any of them for the 69-80gr bullets.
H4895 in 30-30? - Cast Boolits
2016年5月19日 · Because I do not know what bullets you are shooting and therefore have no measurements, I cannot create exact predictions with QL, however, with my data from the 311291 170gr boolit, 29gr. of H4895 will give a close approximation to 29gr IMR 3031 with 3031 having about 100fps greater velocity. Both loads average very close to 2000fps @30K pressure.
IMR 4895 or H4895 - Cast Boolits
2017年3月29日 · Looks like H4895 is just a little hotter and they don't appear to be recommending compressed loads. Last edited by rototerrier; 03-30-2017 at 01:16 PM . 03-30-2017, 07:34 PM #10
H4895 M1 Garand Loads - CMP Forums
2017年1月21日 · My confusion stems from a lot of reloaders using IMR4895 and H4895 seemingly interchangeably when loads appear to differ on Hodgdon's website and reloading manuals. As an example, many use 47 grains of IMR4895 as their "standard" M2 ball load and many appear to use H4895 at the same load when they can't find IMR.
