
Computer boots automatically into GNU GRUB, no other options
Currently, when I start my computer, this screen is shown. I do not have any other options, it boots into this within a second of starting my computer. I used to have Windows 8.1 dual booted with Ubuntu. Today I decided that I don't need Ubuntu anymore and would rather have the extra space. These are the steps I took: Opened disk manager.

Multiple GRUB installs with UEFI: how do they find their config?
With Ubuntu I have not had any sucess with multiple grub installs. The standard grub2 with Ubuntu is hard coded to find a /EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg and that is a configfile to the actual install. And I tried renaming installs with GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR= to a different name and it adds a new entry to UEFI. But only boots the same install.

2020年5月27日 · So for those who have dual boot windows and ubuntu on the same or different disks and don't want the grub loader to show up but default to windows bootup instead and keep ubunut as a second option to start from the UEFI by boot overloading, jsut change the boot order in your UEFI to have windows as first and ubuntu as second and this will do the trick

2014年11月28日 · In your MBR there is a pointer to the files one of these installations, and that installation scans the other partitions, find kernels and puts them in the grub menu. So in principle you don't need the other grubs, but the total amount of disc space taken by those packages is less than 10Mb, so why bother?

2022年10月30日 · Not grub but UEFI. HP - escape + F9 for UEFI boot menu, F10 for UEFI/bios settings And if you cannot get to UEFI menus, then you left fast boot on in UEFI and have to turn it off.
