Goku, Gokuu, Gokuh, Gokou, Gokū, and Gokû are all "valid" under different systems when adapting 悟空 into our alphabet. None is any more or less "accurate" than the other. Very early on Toriyama went with a relatively-consistent "Gokuh" while Bandai (whose consistency is all over the map) has effectively always gone with "Gokou" on merchandise.

Plus jap has had a bunch of different spelling for goku. You can find merch with gokou for example. In the anime episode with goku in space the spacesuit reads gokuh. And when piccolo borrows his hat it reads gokuu. Thinking back I may have seen it spelled with the accent a few times but I definitely saw the other spelling a bunch more.

2023年4月21日 · Goku's name has a similar held character in it (Son Gokū), and it's legitimate to either use the common spelling (Goku) or several alternate spellings that sound out the character more carefully (Gokuh, Gokuu, Gokou, Gokoh). "Gokou" almost won out in early fandom, FWIW, but FUNimation was instrumental in making sure "Goku" became the "standard."
