I purchased a panel from GIK because I thought the design looked cool. After waiting a month, the first panel arrived damaged on all four corners. The package was shipped well and no damage on the box so GIK must have shipped me a damaged panel. Asked for a replacement. Wait another two weeks. Guess what.

2023年3月20日 · From GIK Acoustics I purchased six “Tri-Trap” (triangular bass traps to be placed in the corners of the room) and four “244” panels for the side walls (for the first reflections), while I opted for six PREMIUM panels from Addictive Sound for the front wall (the one behind the main speakers).

I reached out to GIK acoustics and am considering 3 4-inch Impression series rectangles on the back wall. I’m wondering if “just” three panels would make a tangible difference.

2023年3月25日 · I am looking to get a pair of GIK 244 panels in 24" X 48" size to act as first reflection point absorbers and do some bass trapping. I am somewhat confused by the fabric choice, the Guilford of Maine fabric would be an extra $40, and as far as I can read it's only benefit is looks and fire rating? It has no better acoustic properties.

2024年1月20日 · On the GIK soffit bass traps, that didn't exist. If I yell into it, it's deader than what I'd expect yelling at a sheetrock wall, but it doesn't have that same absorption effect the ATS panel had. It's like yelling into a piece of 0.5" thick amazon acoustic foam by contrast, To be clear, I did NOT buy these for high frequency absorption.

Is GIK using some secret material in their traps that the world doesn’t know about or is this just sales tactics to get people to use their products instead of saving money and going the DIY way? Obviously the latter, come on now. GIK and DIY use the same exact materials.
