The Ed Galloway Totem Pole Park is a Route 66 icon and home of "The World's Largest Concrete Totem Pole." One of Oklahoma's landmarks, it has been featured in several important articles and books on environmental folk art and Route 66 lore.

Nine-foot-tall Native chiefs keep watch over all four directions from the top of the Totem Pole. Today, Totem Pole Park is a quiet, sloping expanse of lawn. Stands of trees shade Ed's concrete poles and picnic tables. The park is still free. Visitors can walk into a small room at the base of the big pole and look up through its hollow interior.

Totem poles (Haida: gyáaʼaang) [1] are monumental carvings found in western Canada and the northwestern United States. They are a type of Northwest Coast art, consisting of poles, posts or pillars, carved with symbols or figures.

2010年7月12日 · Now in Kake, Alaska, there stands the world's tallest properly sanctioned totem pole, they claim, at 132 ft, (40 m). Carved by the Chilkats in 1967 for Alaska's centennial, it's in one piece and it stands on a bluff high over a Native reservation. And it's an authentic totem pole if you count the tradition as part of the totem's authenticity.

The gigantic colorful Totem Pole, the centerpiece of the nine-acre park, rises from the back of an enormous kelly-green and aqua-painted turtle. Totem Pole Park also includes Ed Galloway's eleven-sided Fiddle House Museum which retains many of Mr. Galloway's hand-carved fiddles.

2016年3月25日 · I'm the World's Largest Totem Pole. I was once a living tree, standing in a grove of redwoods for 500 years before I was harvested by the Pacific Lumber Co. Ernest Pierson then carved me into a totem pole in 1962 for his new shopping center in McKinleyville. I stand 160 feet tall and weigh 57,000 lbs.
