With an original sticker price of around $13,500 USD, this 2+2 fastback is thought to have originally been delivered in Switzerland, where it remained under the ownership of a Mr. Urlich from 1968 until 1991.

The resulting Dual-Ghia D-500 two-door convertible featured stunning Ghia styling on Chrysler underpinnings but was short-lived, with fewer than 120 units produced from 1956 through 1958. In 1961, Ghia created the L 6.4, a fully bespoke fastback coupe on a custom chassis and fewer off-the-shelf Chrysler components.

Ghia would hand-build not only the body but virtually the entire car, including the chassis, which was based on 1960 Chrysler suspension, and a 383-cubic inch “Wedge” V-8. As the involvement of Casaroll’s Dual Motors shrunk, the new model was simply christened the Ghia L 6.4, or “6.4 Liter,” which is the metric displacement of its engine.
