2023年9月20日 · Gemsbok are wonderful animals to hunt and make great memories hanging on the wall. A big bull will make a perfect main target for a first hunt. I do agree with @Justbryan in that it is a long and expensive flight for a one animal hunt.

2018年12月16日 · The Gemsbok Trophy: The gold standard for a very nice trophy gemsbok is one with 40 inch horns. Both bulls and cows have horns and are hunted, but a bull gemsbok at 40 inches is much more of a trophy than a female of the same length. The Safari Club International (SCI) scoring method of gemsbok favours length of horns over mass.

2015年8月3日 · All of the Oryx; gemsbok, Scimitar, etc… are not to be taken lightly. They are extremely dangerous wounded, cornered, or in defense of calves. I watched a gemsbok bull take out two trailer tires with one hit puncturing the sidewalls on both tires with one whack.

2024年9月19日 · I have culled a lot of animals in Africa with the 30-06. Last trip was to Namibia during a terrible drought. Average shots were 250-350 yards due to barren ground. Shot a lot of zebra, gemsbok, wildes on that trip. All with 180 grain pills. Sierra Pro Hunters and Swift Sciroccos are very accurate, hit with authority and expand/stay together.

2008年1月30日 · Gemsbok and Oryx are the same animal.The Scimitar horned is a different subspecies and I haven't mounted them but I would think that there would be a seperate form for those.Some of the Texas guys should be able to shed light on that or you can check catalogs to see if there are seperate forms for the Scimitar horned.

2018年4月19日 · The gemsbok cape I received from my 2016 hunt is not usable. After 7 months of no replies from the outfitter, I've hit my frustration level and just decided to find one myself. I've not had any luck here in western Pa. If anyone out there has any leads or advice on where I can purchase one I would greatly appreciate it.
