Gary Talley (born August 17, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and author. [1] He began his career as lead guitarist for the Grammy-nominated group The Box Tops who were famous for hits like "The Letter", and "Cry Like a Baby".

About Gary Talley. Mr. Talley is from Detroit, Michigan the son of Huestell Talley and Tempi Talley. He comes from a musical family. His father was the number one drummer in Detroit, Mich. Gary studied clarinet under Doug Cornelson (Detroit Symphony 2ndclarinetist) in classical clarinet orchestral studies.
