Gawad Kalinga (GK) ("to give care" in Tagalog) is a Philippine non-governmental organization known officially as the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation. It describes itself as a " poverty alleviation and nation-building movement". Its mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024. [1]

SIBOL (meaning “to grow”) is a community-based pre-school program, under the GK Child & Youth Development Program (recognized by the Department of Education), designed for children between three and four years old to imbue them with positive Filipino values and to academically prepare them for formal schooling.

The GK (Gawad Kalinga) SIBOL Program focuses on listening; speaking, reading and writing. This program nurtures and develops SIBOL Learners through an age-specific, value-based program that helps them reach their fullest potential.

The first, GK Sibol, serves children ages 3-6 through community-based preschool. The second, GK Sagip, seeks to nurture hope in youth ages 7-13 through values formation. The third, GK Siga, empowers youth ages 14-21 through skills development.
