2022年10月9日 · I'm partial to GSRM - it's short, simple, and inclusive - but anywhere we used it we had to include the full name in parentheses behind it. It wasn't really useful. When you say LGBT, everyone knows what you mean. So saying LGBTQIA+, people get that you mean "the queer community," even if they don't know the full acronym.

The acronym started to shift to LGBT while the AIDS crisis swept through gay communities in the 80s and 90s. Before then, many lesbians found themselves wedged between misogyny in gay liberation circles and homophobia in mainstream feminism.

For example, the Aboriginal people refer to "brotherboys and sistergirls" when talking about transgender indigenous people. Then there's the fa'a'afine people of Samoa. And so on around the world. Where are they in this expanded acronym?

2023年9月23日 · They already make that claim about LGBT-based acronyms anyway though. Like not only do they claim that LGBTQ+ is inclusive of pedos and zoophiles, they claim that all LGBT people are pedos. It's not a very compelling argument; we can't base our actions on the optics when our enemies paint us as literal demons anyway.

Queer is however less specific than LGBT Yet again, I believe that is also why the letter Q was added to the LGBT acronym, to encompass all Queer people not represented in the LGBT acronym. & Then more things were added and now it is something like 2lgbtqia or something, and I do not know what all the labels mean. Sry :-P
