2009年12月2日 · Each Ford plant was assigned usa numbers for each GPW in the contract to be built. Ford used the usa number as the build number to track the vehicle, and not the frame number taken from the engine. I found my blue drab USA number on the back panel, and Tom W found it in his 1942 records from the Louisville Ford plant.

2011年8月9日 · five years ago, i put on my Ford GPW Dod 06/1943 the Firestone tires....and i can say that they are fantastic! Regarding the tires marked Ford, I read, years ago, that the "Ford production line" in 1942 was dismantled and moved to Urss with the "Lend & Lease program" for producing the tires for the Willys / ford gave to the Red Army.

2011年8月9日 · Painted the radiator and top bows OD. Yes, the Ford GPW came with an OD radiator: I also realized I was missing the captive nut on the front passenger side shock tower. The battery ground cable is bolted there, so I had to weld on in there: All done: I installed the radiator felt seal to the grill using staples.

2012年3月4日 · From my GPW studies and database, your GPW 124400 should have come from the Dallas, Tx. assembly plant. The body is correct for the DoD of your GPW. There is no numbers on the body gusset of a Ford made body. The motor is a government issue replacement. The block was cast on April 7, '44. I hope this is of some help.
