2008年4月23日 · I've struggled to find a tool to hold the flywheel while working on the flywheel. I found this A/C clutch wrench at Princess Auto for $10 that has the same spacing as flywheel pulling bolt holes. It worked well as I pulled the flywheel off my 75hp. I was even able to hold the flywheel as I torqued it to 80 ft/lb.

When I tighten the flywheel shaft nut, the flywheel/crankshaft turns and I can't tighten it to the 100 ft-lb tight per specs. Is there a trick to holding the flywheel on place to tighten the nut, without damaging any powerhead...

2012年12月11日 · the wooden flywheel holder is a good old fashioned piece of bodgeneering, proper caveman tooling,but if it wirks then its a good tool. if it dont work its just a piece of wood. No reason not to make a metal version and keep the thickness just right at the flywheel end to make surethe threaded bolts go in the correct distance.

2005年3月10日 · Re: holding flywheel still while removing nut Taking a flywheel off is no problem with the proper puller, and an impact wrench. Getting it back on when the torque can go as high as a 140 Ft./Lbs. is another story. On the small rope start engine's, you can use a strap wrench.

2008年4月19日 · Re: Flywheel Removal The puller you plan to use is the incorrect tool, and latching it onto the flywheel teeth will likely damage, warp, the fly wheel teeth. Hitting the crank shaft with a hammer to pop the wheel loose could damage magnets attached to the to it. The puller you need is a three bolt harmonic balancer, with a centre bolt.

2007年3月7日 · In order to change my timing belt on my F90 I need a special tool Flywheel Holding Tool prt # YB-06319/90890-06522. I have searched the intranet and have been unable to find it anywhere. I did find generic fly wheel holder with 2 pins that opened to a 5' span. But not sure this tool will fit.

2008年10月31日 · electric start? if so your local auto parts store should have a flywheel holding tool (it grabs the teeth on the flywheel)for sale and if your lucky you may be able to borrow one from the store. also dont forget the flywheel has a set torque spec. youll need this to do the job right.....also make sue both surfaces are free of rust,etc.

Your are going to need it when you torque the flywheel back on. Holding a rope wrapped aroung the flywheel or a scrwedriver...

2010年7月27日 · I ended up kind of using this method. I have 4 holes on the outside of my flywheel that fit a 1/4" bolt perfect, but they are not threaded. I took a 2X4 and drilled holes to match the holes on my flywheel and tapped the bolts through the board into the flywheel and wedged it against my tie down cleat. Thanks for all the neat tricks though guys.
