FLAM3 - cosmic recursive fractal flames see the file COPYING for the license covering this software. This is free software to render fractal flames as described on http://flam3.com. Flam3-animate makes animations, and flam3-render makes still images. Flam3-genome creates and manipulates genomes (parameter sets). A C library is also installed.

You can create your own flames with Fr0st (cross-platform and scriptable in python), the Apophysis interactive designer (for windows), Apophysis 7X the improved version, Qosmic (for Linux), or Oxidizer (for Mac OS X), or JWildfire (java cross platform).

Flam3 works by creating a single .flame file (without the <Flames> element) and a batch file (.bat) with instructions to pass this .flame file to the renderer and output as a picture file of selected format (.jpg, .png or .ppm).

FLAM3 for Houdini generate a live point cloud of the fractal Flame being worked on. All the render settings required by third-party programs such as Apophysis and Fractorium are stored together with the fractal flames when they are saved from FLAM3H.

FLAM3 for SideFX Houdini generate a live point cloud of the fractal Flame being worked on, witch is the actual render. From there to the final image it is left to the users ( aka points rendering ). With Karma you will then render the generated Fractal Flames in nearly real time.
