PREFERRED RETINAL LOCUS IN MACULAR DISEASE
For all 11 eyes with an eccentric PRL, the underlying retinal areas appeared to have normal FAF. In addition, the visual field sensitivities associated with the PRLs were within ±2 dB of the mean sensitivity values for each of the 11 patients.
Multimodal analysis of the Preferred Retinal Location and the ...
Microperimetry, fundus autofluorescence (FAF), spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) were performed. The location and stability of the PRL along with the associated FAF pattern and visual sensitivities were determined and compared to the underlying retinal structure.
Adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopy in a ... - Nature
2024年10月9日 · Macular microperimetry has the dual purpose of quantifying retinal sensitivity and measuring the preferred retinal locus (PRL). It was performed under mesopic...
A Comparison of Fundus Autofluorescence and Retinal Structure in ...
FAF and SD-OCT were obtained on 22 eyes of 11 patients with Stargardt disease. SD-OCT images were obtained at the fovea and at the eccentric preferred retinal locus (PRL). The diameters of “absent” (hypo-autofluorescent) and “abnormal” FAF areas were measured.
High resolution imaging of Preferred Retinal Loci in macular diseases
Purpose : Development of Preferred Retinal Loci (PRL) eccentric to the fovea is an adaptive mechanism that follows irreversible central vision loss due to macular atrophy from different pathologies. This prospective observational study describes the structural and functional characteristics of the PRL using high resolution imaging modalities.
PREFERRED RETINAL LOCUS IN MACULAR DISEASE
The visual sensitivity of the surrounding retinal region was measured with static perimetry and the relationship of the PRL to fundus abnormalities examined by overlaying the perimetric and fixation results onto the fundus photograph and onto the fundus autofluorescence (FAF) images.
Longitudinal Changes in Preferred Retinal Location, Visual …
Purpose: To study longitudinal changes in preferred retinal location (PRL) and visual function in Stargardt disease (STGD) and assess their relationship to changes in short wavelength fundus autofluorescence (SW-FAF) and retinal structure measured with spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
RETINA - journals.lww.com
The location of PRLs in patients with macular disease and the relationship among areas of altered FAF, the PRL and visual sensitivity were investigated. Eccentric PRLs were in the superior retina in regions with normal FAF. Hypofluorescence was associated with markedly decreased sensitivity, but hyperfluorescence corresponding to flecks was not.
