The Medical Response Unit functions as a basic life support and quick response unit at Florida State University. Staffed by trained student volunteers, the Medical Response Unit is an affiliated project associated with University Health Services, FSU Police Department, Student Government Association, and FSU Division of Student Affairs.

Staffed by over 100 trained student volunteers, with certifications ranging from emergency medical responders, EMTs, and paramedics, the unit provides coverage for many of the university’s major events, including countless 5K runs, football pre-games, baseball games, student-organized events, and intramural sports.

Students who are already certified can apply to join the next available MRU’s Field Training semester (held every Spring and Fall semester). The application window for the training semester is open year-round and interviews will be conducted year-round as well.
