Can a seller be successful on Etsy without promoting on Facebook? I am reluctant to open a FB account, especially since the news came out about Cambridge Analytica, because of privacy issues. I do promote on Pinterest. There must be alternatives to using Facebook, but I wonder how effective they are. I don't need to be wildly successful.

Etsy for sure. Ran a couple of fb ad campaigns for for $25-50 each time with zero sales, haven’t done one since. Etsy ads & google shopping adds through Etsy at around $30/day currently. Usually make about $5-6 in revenue for every $1.00 spent on Etsy promoted listings. Our shop ads are focused on the 10 best sellers with the best profit margins.

99% of etsy related facebook groups are pathetic.. Bickering, plenty of misinformation, people who don't even bother reading the handbook and who don't know the rules, calling everyone a Karen, admins getting pissy because people disagreed with them, people getting triggered because you point4ed out that their advice would get someone suspended.
