Erika Allen (she/her) is the founder and CEO for Urban Growers Collective; president of Green ERA Educational NFP; and co-owner of Green Era Sustainability Partners. Allen founded and served as the director of Growing Power – Chicago from 2002 to 2017.

Urban Growers Collective (UGC) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization co-founded by Laurell Sims and Erika Allen in 2017. Sims and Allen work closely with community partners to demonstrate the development of community-based food systems.

Urban Growers Collective was founded shortly afterward by Allen's daughter, Erika. Erika Allen was provided resources from the now-closed Iron Street farm, and also received a donation from an unnamed funder.

Erika Allen is a social change artist, with a focus on the healing arts related to understanding and deconstructing/revealing how structural oppression impacts society and humanity. Her arts practice for the last 22 years has focused on community based food systems and agriculture in the built environment.
