The characters are the ghosts of two dead children, Charles Rowland and Edwin Payne, who, rather than enter the afterlife, stay on Earth to become detectives investigating supernatural crimes. Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant portray Rowland and Payne in the third season of the HBO Max series Doom Patrol .

Edwin Payne is a ghost and founder of the Dead Boy Detectives along with Charles Rowland. Edwin attended St. Hilarion Boarding School from 1913 to 1916, where he was offered as a sacrifice in a ritual that some of his classmates performed with the intention of scaring him.

2024年4月29日 · When Edwin died in Dead Boy Detectives in 1916, he was taken to Hell. After escaping, he met with Charles right before he died. The two went on the run immediately after Charles’ death, preventing him from going to the afterlife. However, toward the end of the series, Edwin is captured by a baby-doll-head, spider demon and taken back to Hell.
