"Edgy" is a catchall for a super serious, 'loner' style character, that uses a tragic backstory as an explanation for their personality. They are often aloof, and rarely work constructively as a team. Tragic, vague backstories are edgy, your characters parents died when you where a child, your town was burned down etc.

A lot of times they don't really have any reason to be with the party at all, besides the chance at causing harm and getting loot. Possible substitutes exist, including cleric of a dark god, fallen paladin, necromancer, and shadow monk, but I think those are the best. Edgy characters are a great way to get other people to get to define theirs - the wavering rogue considering a black hearted assassination to solve the group's problems presents an opportunity for the law-abiding redemption cleric to guide them to a better path and spark character growth.

2019年6月5日 · Nothing is more tedious for DM's and your fellow players to have to cater everything to make sure your annoying character is motivated to come along on adventures and missions. You should especially be mindful of this when building edgy characters.
