Jerry Schaefer is a Canadian actor who is best known for his role as Possum Lake animal control officer Ed Frid on The Red Green Show. [1] Jerry is a veteran of The Second City, where he continues to work as an instructor.

Ed Frid (Jerry Schaefer) is the second animal control officer in Possum Lake, replacing Garth Harble after he retires in the 8th season. Despite his role as an animal control officer, Ed is deathly afraid of virtually all animals, firmly believing that they are out to get him ("even when your father's a much better target!").
