2013年2月21日 · I had VERY bad experience with Eco Wood Treatment and would caution anyone in a humid environment from using it with pine boxes. Here in New England, I had 9-10 Mann Lake select boxes warp and crack on me last year. I telephoned the representative in the US or Canada before treatment, and was told it wouldn't be an issue - but it was. YMMV.

2015年5月5日 · Has anyone used Eco Wood Treatment on their hives? I'm starting mine this month and purchased from Amazon. Found it cheaper there. It was recommended from someone at Kelley Bee. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. I'm going to pick up another hive this week and will need to...

2015年1月20日 · Eco Wood Treatment is utter crap. Lost 8-10 boxes which warped, cracked, and/or pulled apart ant the finger joints. Caveat Emptor. An expensive lesson, but I'm going to stick with the tried and true prime and paint method. Tony

2014年1月28日 · I grab a plastic water bottle (about 16 oz) take a swig (or pour out, measure 450 ml about, 15.2 oz, and drink the remaining) and pour in 6.7 grams of the eco wood treatment. I shake it up well, pour it into a cup and foam brush 4-5 mediums. You can add some tint from the paint store for color before shaking. Tony P.

2022年4月13日 · I've used it for about 5 years. I like the dark color after a few months. The wood will still crack due to UV but the eco treatment is supposed to work its way into the cracks as well. I leave my empty equipment outside on end to keep wax moths at bay so it weathers faster than most. I can build boxes much easier than replacing drawn comb.

2015年1月22日 · After my boxes were dry I put a coat of (1/3 spar varnish, 1/3 boiled linseed oil, 1/3 mineral spirits) I brush as much as the wood will absorb, wait a few minutes, and wipe off as much as I can. It protects the wood, and wont chip because all the finish is in the wood.

2019年3月19日 · The hive was first coated a few days ago with Eco Wood Treatment. In the future I probably wouldn’t do that (more later on that). After research, but not bothering to conduct any test I decided to go with 50/50 mix of pine tar and raw linseed oil. …
